Good news, great joy, whole George family! So after a few days of stress, just for the grown ups, the kids have been none the wiser, we have had a car win. Not the miracle we were hoping for, but still a win.

Not long before we left on our adventure Dave upgraded our roadside cover from the regular roadside cover to RACV’s Total Care. It meant that we would be covered to a long distance tow if we happened to break down along the way… We didn’t really think that this applied to our situation, but after a bit of a push from the mechanic we called… turns out they cover this exact type of thing, and instead of having to fund our own transport of the car and trailer, or having to leave some of it up north. All of it… yep the car, the trailer and all our stuff is now on a truck heading home thanks to them, and they will also help us cover our flights and rental car.

My previous experience with insurance, both car and health, has been that not very much is covered at all, and what you need… probably isn’t covered even if you think it should be… but this has been an insurance miracle and I am incredibly thankful. So here is my shameless plug to upgrade your roadside if you are heading out on a trip… you never know when you might need it.
